Mate Pokies & Slot Machines Guide
Pokies make up one of the game categories inside our casino lobby, sitting alongside our wider casino games library. New players joining today can also claim a $1400 bonus plus 80 free spins to spin them with.
How Pokies Work at Casino Mate
Pokies are listed as one of the two core game categories we organise our library around, alongside our broader casino games section. Every pokie runs on a random number generator that decides each spin independently, which is the mechanic behind every reel-based game you will find in our lobby.
Searching for Casino Mate online usually means looking for our pokies collection specifically, since that is the category most players head to first after signing in. We group these titles separately from our other casino games so they are easy to browse on both desktop and mobile.
Volatility in Simple Terms
Volatility describes how a pokie pays out over time: low-volatility games tend to release smaller wins more often, while high-volatility games hold back for bigger but rarer hits. We do not label our pokies by volatility tier, so it is worth testing a title at low stakes first to get a feel for its pattern before committing larger bets.
Game Categories in Our Lobby
Our casino organises titles into two main categories, and pokies is one of them. The table below sets out how the two categories differ in what they offer.
| Category | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Pokies | Reel and video slot machines, the main spin-based games in our lobby |
| Casino games | Our wider catalogue of casino titles beyond the pokies section |
Pokies sit at the centre of this split, which is why most players filter straight to that category when they open our casino section.
Getting Started with Pokies
Spinning our pokies for the first time takes a few straightforward steps once your account is ready.
- Open an account through our sign-up process before you can load any pokie.
- Claim the $1400 bonus plus 80 free spins listed on our casino bonus page to add credit or spins to your balance.
- Head to the pokies filter inside our casino section to browse the category directly.
- Start at low stakes on a new title to get a sense of its volatility before raising your bet size.
What to Know Before You Spin
Every pokie we list falls under one of two broader groupings in our lobby: pokies themselves, and the rest of our casino games. This simple split keeps browsing fast rather than forcing players to scroll through an unsorted list.
Because each spin is generated independently, past results on any pokie have no bearing on the next outcome. That applies whether you are playing with your own deposit or with free spins credited from the welcome offer.
We recommend checking the information panel on each individual pokie before playing, since that is where any payout and feature details for that specific title are shown.
